Student Life

A Community Fully Alive

Year‑round, students find abundant opportunities to explore interests, lead with initiative, and connect. Every day at CKA, students plan events, build traditions, serve others, and grow through teamwork and friendship. From clubs to athletics, Student Life complements classical learning with formation of mind, character, and soul.

Clubs

Lead, create, and serve together. Below is a sampling of CKA’s student-run clubs.

  • Open to Middle School. Led by Mr. Padilla, the club meets every other Friday during fifth and sixth periods to practice strategy and play matches. Students also compete in interscholastic tournaments.

  • Open to Middle School. Our newspaper publishes monthly issues with commentary on current events, debates, interviews, and creative pieces.

  • Led by our chaplain, Fr. Joseph Gill, high school students on fire for their faith are trained to lead activities, discussions, and give witness to their faith for other teens. The Ignite team is invited to lead Confirmation retreats at several parishes throughout the Diocese.

  • The Mother Teresa Outreach Ministry is a student-run group dedicated to the corporal works of mercy: Thanksgiving turkey drives, Boxes of Joy, winter coat collections, baby-shower gifts for pro-life ministries, and more.

  • Students plan and host dances throughout the year, from themes to budgets. The committee negotiates prom venue contracts and organizes three dances for area Catholic middle schools.

  • This team builds school spirit with beloved events such as International Night, the Powder Puff game, Rake ’N Bake, pancake breakfasts, and themed dress-down days.

  • Open to Middle School. Supervised by Mrs. Galasso, Student Government includes elected leaders from each class who organize events and initiatives to serve the school community.

  • Led by upperclassmen, the team photographs school events and collaborates to produce a yearbook that becomes a treasured keepsake.

Athletics

Play with purpose. Compete with joy. Explore our athletic program below.

Note: High school athletes with demanding training and competition schedules may receive PE credit, thereby freeing up time during the school day for study.
